Medieval

We spent the morning back with the autistic children again - as the director of the centre says "We are trying to de-spastify them". They were being forced to take part in music therapy which meant being shouted at and forced to bang drums. Most of them didn’t know what they were doing and looked rather scared, some just sat there drooling. The noise could not have been helping but they believed the vibrations would reverberate in the body.

Next we watched some physiotherapy – this involved taking children who couldn’t move their limbs and forcibly bending and unbending them. The children wailed and screamed in agony– it was uncomfortable and in many way rather medieval. The centre is trying its best and I applaud it in many ways. But it lacks expertise and none is arriving.

We then drove to the mountains where I am now. Too tired to write more . See tomorrow.
